The Role of the Press in Political and Social Change
The Embassy of Brazil, The London School of Economics and Political
Science and The University of East London cordially invite you to the
seminar on the role of media in development with specific focus on its
role in Brazil.
In an era of increasing commercialization of the
media worldwide and rise of cynicism in politics, can the press still have a
role in strengthening democracy and can it contribute to wider political
change? This seminar will compare media systems from different countries
and the impact on the democratic process.
